We just got back from a family trip to DC. A really classy place filled with all kinds, of all kinds, of people…..we had a great experience. Drove there, of course, on our new Nokian eNTYREs. They were smooth and confident in the wet, but I was most surprised by the handling, which is usually compromised in a luxury performance touring tire like these.

Gas mileage (25mpg) was about the the Michelin MXM4’s we had before, which were also a low rolling resistance tire.

As anyone who has driven 95-South knows; There’s some crazy drivers out there, and when you’re bombing along at 75 on 2 lanes, it’s raining and theres a dead stop 300 feet in front of you. With the family in the car, it’s crunch time and these are the times when your tire choice matters.

The eNTYREs proved themselves many times over the 900 mile trip and I will definitely recommend these to my friends and family.

From the cool tribal symbol on the sidewall to its smooth, quiet and sexy tread….. I knew these tires were class the first time I saw them.

When it comes to super premium, you can tell a lot about a tire by looking at it: Is it fresh, smooth? Does it have excess rubber on it, that means it wasn’t hand finished? Are the grooves polished?

But the best premium tires give you bang for the buck. The eNTYRE is $40 less than the Michelin MXM4 and so far so good.

No bad stuff in these either. I like that the eNTYRE, like all Nokian tires, is made from low aromatic, purified oils like canola, that are earth friendly and won’t pollute as they wear out.

Nokian has always been a leader in clean tire production, low rolling resistance and understanding the Life Cycle of a Tire… They’re from Finland, what do you expect? Click here for more on Nokian tires.

The last time you purchased tires online did you find the process of locating an installer to be slightly painful or embarrassing, and worse yet, far more expensive than you had anticipated? Well, we’ve solved that problem for you. Just follow these three simple steps…

Shop our vast selection of Tires online, choose the tires that best meet your needs and

Next view and select the installation procedures and options that fit your vehicle and view the TOTAL “OUT THE DOOR” PRICE QUOTE *.

Then check out with our simple, secure and convenient payment options.

Benefits of Buying Online-”Dealer Direct”– The dealer who routed you to TireMonkey’s private labeled site has chosen to participate in the TireMonkey network to improve efficiency and convenience for them and you in the hope of establishing a long term business relationship. Unlike other “online” tire vendors who simply drop ship tires to your home or office and leave the question of “how do I get them on my car?” up to you, your tires will be delivered by one of our regional tire distributors to your local neighborhood dealer in real time for speedy installation.

Convenience!-Convenience!-Convenience! – We have worked hard to ensure that our dealer network adheres to the highest standards for customer service, professional installation and convenient service delivery. In most cases, tires can be delivered and installed within 24 hours from the time of purchase. Many of our dealers maintain expanded service hours including weekends. In every case, they will strive to meet your expectations, earn your trust and establish a mutually beneficial relationship to provide you with solutions for your future automotive needs!

How does TireMonkey save me money? – Our system relies on the huge inventories of regional distributors spread across the country who deliver daily to our dealer network. So you don’t pay the expensive ground shipping charges which can often be $40.00 to $100.00 on a set of four tires. Further, our dealers don’t have to pass on the high cost of maintaining large on site inventories and since you are not buying tires directly from them you do not incur state and local taxes on the tire purchase ** . Therefore, YOU SAVE THREE WAYS!

How does it work? – We’ve done the legwork for you! Once the order is processed using TireMonkey’s technology, the rest is up to us and our network of regional distributors and LOCAL DEALERS, all you have to do is sit back. The neighborhood dealer who iscommitted to your total satisfaction will call shortly to set up a convenient time to install your tires and they will welcome you to their shop like the valued customer you are! Because we have identified and assembled a network of such highly competent installing dealers and confirmed their willingness to enthusiastically serve your tire needs, IT REALLY IS THAT EASY!!

Payments – All Payments are made through TireMonkey’s secure PayPal account and are protected by SSL encryption technology. Order processing, fulfillment, tracking, dealer communication and collaboration are handled by TireMonkey’s internet technology platform to ensure that you have the fastest and easiest tire buying experience possible.

If you have any questions please give us a call – 800-853-7130.

* Applicable state and local sales taxes may be due on labor and installation charges at the time of installation. Check with your installing dealer for details.

Next time your washing the car, take a look at the tires.

Most drivers wear out their tires before tire cracking even becomes an issue, but tires start to show signs of aging after 3-4 years and may get small cracks in the tread or sidewall.

Acid rain, harsh chemicals, dripping gasoline, tire shine products, under inflated, scuffed, misaligned, the sun, the ozone, hot ashpalt and freezing roads…it’s a lot of abuse over the years and the rubber compounds will eventually break down.

There’s no “Oil of Olay” for tires and spray-on tire protectants don’t work. Some are petroleum based and will accelerate the cracking on your tires and void your warranty.

Most tire manufacturers will warranty their tires against “normal” weather cracking for 4 years, although there is some fine print.

For the best results, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of your tires directly and let them refer you to one of their authorized dealers.

Is the 3,000 mile oil change interval real maintenance? Or is it a myth?

It depends on who you talk to….

Nothing works harder than your engine oil; Everyone agrees that regular oil changes prolongs the life of your engine by preventing sludge buildup.

So when should you change your oil in your car? 3,000 miles was always the number with regular oil; 5,000 miles was good for full synthetic oil , but now we’re seeing vehicles with an oil change reminder light that doesn’t come on for 15,000 miles?

Change your oil too soon, it’s like changing the bath water 1/2 way through the bath. That’s why at Kenwood, we recommend following the intervals in your owners manual.

Ford found that its customers like a set mileage interval and they recommend changing the oil every 5,000 or 7,500 miles, depending on its use. Toyota reduced it’s oil change interval from 7,500 to 5,000 miles for severe service because they were finding sludge in the engines. Honda and GM have stopped making recommendations altogether and rely on oil-life monitors to prevent unnecessary oil changes. If the monitor senses you’re allowing the engine oil to warm up and you take it easy until it’s at operating temperature, an interval of 5,000 or 7,500 miles with conventional oil is not uncommon. But if you start your car cold and immediately tear onto the highway at 80 mph, expect your next service date to arrive sooner.

The new oil change is a scheduled service and the quick lube places are going away. Call us for tour scheduled services; We use quality Kendall Motor Oils that meet or exceed manufacturers specifications.
